The Queen’s Baton Relay fulfils a similar function to the Olympic Torch that is passed from one host city to the next and can trace its history back to Ancient Greece. Torch relay races started as religious rituals held at night. Soon they turned into team athletic events and further developed to become one of the most popular ancient sports. The use of the Baton in athletic relay races can be traced back to the United States in 1893 and today provide some of the most exciting moments in athletics with pure speed needing to be combined with flawless technique and outstanding teamwork.
Baton Advisory uses the same concept of passing the Baton to facilitate the transfer of a business from the hands of one owner to the next.
